CBSE Date Sheet 2011 for Class X and Class XII Board Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the dates for class Xth and XIIth board exams to be held in the month of march, 2010.The class Xth and XIIth students are going to face Music and Physics respectively on 3rd march, 2010.Some students are not happy at this time since this year CBSE didn't released the answer sheet of toppers in board exams, 2009. The detailed date sheet can accessed after clicking on the desired class.
The countdown for the Board exams 2010 has begun. The last-ever Board exams for Class X will commence from March 3 with the music paper followed by social science on March 5. The exams for Class X will get over on March 31 with science practical skills paper. The first paper of Class XII - Physics will be on March 3 and the exams will continue till April 8.
The first exam for the commerce stream will be business studies to be held on March 4. Political science on March 5 will be the first main paper in the humanities stream. For Class X, these will be the last Boards to be conducted after the introduction of continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) in CBSE schools across the country. After the exams in 2010, Class X will be marked on a year-long basis instead of a one-time external exam.
The CBSE date sheet consists of both advantages and disadvantages, but we can't be so mean, as it bestows the CBSE schools and students with more benefits and facilities. The outcome of the CBSE date sheet is always popular, besides the rumors of its outcome are more popular than it! The CBSE date sheet comes out with all the necessary features, such as, special mention about the board syllabus, i.e. it displays, whether the date sheet is for secondary, or higher secondary schools, next comes the subject names, followed with the subject codes, besides the mandatory date and time schedules of the examination that is going to be conducted. This is the pattern structure of usual date sheet that is being declared for the 10th and 12th standards, board exams and compartment exams. The board exams are usual public exams that are conducted for the 10th and 12th standards, whereas the compartment exams are conducted for the students, who have failed in the public examination. The students would be provided with 5 attempts to clear the examination provided with the constraint that the students have passed the internal assessments. But, recently the CBSE has introduced a new examination pattern, namely, the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), according to which the 10th standard students would not be having public examination, rather they would be evaluated based on the internal assessments. Hence, probably there might be changes in the CBSE date sheet structure pattern for the CBSE 10th standards in the coming years. Anyways, the CBSE has to be praised, as it handles many responsibilities such as:

Tips to DO IT NOW

We have all been faced the problem of procrastination some time or another. For some, it’s occasional and for others its chronic. Others find that it hits only some areas of their lives.

Whatever may be the case, the results are usually the same – waste of time, missed
opportunities, poor performance, and / or increased stress. Procrastination is letting the low-priority tasks get in the way of high-priority ones. This often
results in important jobs going lower down the priority list. Suppose you prefer to socialise with colleagues rather than studying for the exam. Or watch TV instead of doing your homework.
We all seem to do fine with things we want to do or enjoy doing. But, when we see some tasks as difficult, inconvenient, or boring, we may switch into a procrastination mode. We tend to avoid these tasks. In effect it is we who is getting fooled. Check out the following list and see how many are true for you:
• I'll wait until I'm in the right mood to take it up.
• It's OK to celebrate ... besides; I'll start my diet programme next week.
• My health isn't all that bad. And time is a great healer.
• There's plenty of time to complete this task.
• It's too hard to talk about. It’s difficult to decide where to begin.
• I work better and faster under stress, so I don't need to do it right now.
• I've got too many other things to do first.
Once expressed and examined, these self-defeating statements don't sound so convincing. But, when we tell these excuses to ourselves, they seem quite believable. Don't be carried away by their simplicity. They are enough to force us to postpone important tasks and duties.
How to overcome procrastination
1. Be realistic: we all have good reasons for postponing important work. Those old excuses really do not hold well. Write down all your excuses on one side of a piece of paper. Start challenging the faulty reasoning behind each of the excuses. Write down your realistic thoughts on the opposite side of each excuse.
2. Positive Attitude: Include a list of positive and motivating statements into your thoughts.
Consider ...
"There's no better time like now."
"The sooner I get the job done, the better it is."
"Perfectionism an illusion that keeps me from doing what I have to do right now."
"It's cheaper and less painful if I do it now rather than wait until it gets worse."
3. Do not jump to conclusion: Doing this will only fail you and reinforce you belief that you are no good at something. It will only create a wall of fear in you. Recognize that your negative predictions are not facts. Focus on the present and what positive steps you can take toward reaching your goals.
4. Be focused: Think about what you want and what needs to be done. Be specific. If it's getting that work completed by the deadline, figure out a timetable with realistic goals at each step. Keep your sights within reason. Having goals too big can scare you away from starting.
5. Set clear priorities: Write down all the things that need to be done in order of their importance. The greater the importance or urgency, the higher their priority. Put other distractions in its proper place – preferably in the last! Start at the top of the list and work your way down.
6. Break the complex tasks: Big projects are generally overwhelming. Break them down into the smaller and most manageable subparts. You'll get more done if you can do it piece by piece. For example, make an outline of the report before you start writing it. Do a small portion of the chores rather than all at once. This technique works especially well with the unpleasant jobs. Most of us can handle jobs we dislike as long as they're for a short time and in small increments.
7. Be organized: Have all your materials ready before you begin a task. Use a daily schedule and have it with you all the time. List the tasks of the day or week realistically. Keep a record of tasks that you have completed them.
8. Be committed: Commit yourself to doing the task. Write yourself a "I will do it" statement and keep revisiting it. Better still; be your own supervisor about your plans.
9. Use post-its: Have post-its to be used as reminders to yourself. Put them in frequently seen places like on the TV, refrigerator, bathroom mirror, front door, etc. The more we remember, the greater is the likelihood that we will follow our plans.
10. Reward yourself: Self-reinforcement has a powerful effect on developing a "do it now" attitude. Celebrate the completion, pat yourself on the back, smile, and let yourself enjoy the completion of even the smallest of tasks. Don't minimize your accomplishments. Remember, you're already that much closer to finishing those things that need to be done. Go ahead, get started ... NOW.

EFFECTIVE LEARNING

You may like it or not, the fact is that in order to be successful, one have to study – at least up to some level. Even if you ultimately decide to avoid studies by joining some vocational/professional course, you are required to study at least some minimum. And yes (if your objective is to become a doctor, an engineer, professor, scientist or administrative officer or a manager, you have to study and study very hard.

It is easy to sit down and look at the book. Real study, however, is a concentrated attack on the book or other resources of information until (a) you understand it (b) you have learned as much the information as you wish to learn. Many students despite being intelligent, may find that the hardest part of the study is settling down to it - - i.e. the beginning. Very often a student decides to become serious about his studies from the next morning. And when the alarm rings he gently presses the button (of the alarm) and honestly re-decides to work in the evening and so on. And the process continues. If you happen to be one of such students – Don’t worry. Follow some tips to start studying and learning the subjects efficiently.

Work out a schedule for yourself. It acts as a challenge and as a guide. It is better to begin with a general schedule which is flexible. After following it for a few days, you will know which subjects require the greatest allotment of time and then you adjust your schedule accordingly. Try to spread out your time allocation in a rational way. With more and more experience you will be your best judge: you may then re-schedule your timing, depending on your weakness or strength in various subjects.

If your study is interrupted every ten minutes to attend to something for your comfort, you will loose concentration, break the threads of argument and waste a great deal of energy. Therefore before settling to the spell of hard study, adjust the window to you liking, get a drink if you are thirsty, keep a bottle of water with you, and attend to any other small physical matter that may otherwise distract you later. At the same time never try to be over comfortable: don't study on the beds using pillows, always use a table and chair and keep your back upright. Try to use natural day light rather than artificial.

Learning is an active effortful process. Just to read the words passively is ineffective. You must have interest in the matter and should get involved in the task actively. Retention of the subject matter will be better if reading is supplemented by self-recitation. If a psychological research it was found that when the students devoted all their time to reading, recall (memory) of the five biographies averaged 16% after four hours. However, when 3/5th to 4/5th of the learning time was devoted to self-recitation, recall after four hours was nearly twice as great. The advantage of recitation over passive reading is that the student is forced to react to the subject matter rather than merely trying to absorb it.

Difference Between GSM and CDMA

When we buy a mobile phone, we usually don’t concern ourselves with the standards or technologies that our mobile phone uses. This is more so when we buy mobile phones that have the standard contract from the phone company, since it is 100% assured that it would function with that network. But in case you did not know, there are 2 very prominent technologies around the world. The first is GSM (Global System Mobile) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access).

The problem with these two technologies is that they are not really compatible and mobile phones that were made for one network would not necessarily work on the other. It shouldn’t really be a problem for you unless you travel outside your usual area or possibly outside the country. But in case you do travel around a lot, it might be better if you have a GSM mobile phone in tow since GSM holds a much bigger share of the mobile phone industry. And you should also consider this when buying a mobile phone from abroad. I know a couple of people who bought CDMA mobile phones when the whole country they were in was on GSM.

Technology wise, CDMA was supposed to be more advanced compared to GSM, but the hold of GSM over the market has already been cemented in the years that it was ahead making it impossible for CDMA to totally replace GSM. With regards to the third generation of mobile phones, it became apparent that GSM would not be able to compete with CDMA in terms of speed. Therefore it became apparent that GSM would have to move to CDMA. But the people who run GSM networks made a move that still made the two networks incompatible, by deploying WCDMA (Wideband CDMA) or UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service) as it is known in Europe. This standard is still incompatible with EV-DO which was the next step for the CDMA crowd.

The battle between this two has long abandoned the technology aspect which was how it started, but now it is all about market share. Although in the technology side GSM seems to be gaining the upper hand with 3.6Mbps for UMTS and 7.2 for the later HSDPA, compared to the 2.4Mbps of EV-DO and 5.2Mbps of EV-DV which are the current competing technologies. Although it seems that CDMA isn’t going to be able to compete with GSM superiority in the mobile phone market, it is still unclear whether CDMA is actually going away.

Points to Remeber :
(i) Assessment of theory/practical papers in external subjects shall be in numerical scores. In addition to numerical scores, the Board shall indicate grades in the marks sheets issued to the candidates in case of subjects of external examinations. In case of internal assessment subjects, only grades shall be shown.

(ii) Subjects of internal examination in Class X the assessment shall be made on a five point scale I.e. A,B,C,D & E.

Institutes
The best place to obtain training includes the British council, the National School of Drama and the Young Men's Christian Association which hold short-term courses in public speaking. The course content is designed to improve the pitch, intonation, and modulation of voice.

Besides, some famous DJs have opened their own training schools. Like: Rummy Sharma, a DJ with Djinns at the Hyatt, has started his own school, 'The Studio Bakers', for training aspiring DJs at Pusa Road and Kailash colony.

* 'Sound of Music', Vasant Kunj run by DJ Sunny Sarid is yet another suitable place.
* Sumit Budhiraja runs another institute called the 'Modus Operandi.

CAREER IN INTERIOR DESIGNING

Interior designers do space planning, taking into account aesthetics and inspect work on-site, using specialised knowledge of interior construction, building systems and components, building regulations, equipment, materials and furnishings and prepare drawings and documents relative to the design of interior space. They are responsible for the interiors of buildings (whereas an architect is responsible for its shell). Interior designers must be able to read blueprints, understand building and fire regulations and know how to make space accessible to people who are disabled.
SUITABILITY
You should possess a natural aptitude for art as well as an eye for colour and a feel for fabric. You would need considerable technical and product knowledge and technical drawing skills, either on paper or with computer aided design (CAD). Designers need to be well-read, open to new ideas and influences and quick to respond to changing trends. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure are additional important traits. Good business sense and sales ability are also important, especially if you freelance or run your own business. You need to be able to work closely with other people.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Diploma courses (for a duration of two or three years) in interior design or interior design and decoration are offered after class 10 at polytechnics and vocational training schools. A few universities offer three-year/four year bachelor degree programmes to students completing class 12/equivalent. Sometimes a Bachelor of Fine Arts may offer the option of
specialisation in interior decoration.
ADMISSION PROCESS
In most cases, you would need to qualify an aptitude test before getting admission that would assess your imagination, lateral thinking, exposure to basic design and interiors, sensitivity to colour, 3D form, visual order, craft skills, visual perception and logic.

Use of Summer Vacation

School may be out for the summer, but it doesn’t mean the work has ended for teachers. Summer vacation provides many opportunities for teachers to improve their skills and to have new experiences to bring into their classrooms when fall classes begin again.
There are several tips for educators to improve their teaching with some strategic use of summer vacation.

Take workshops and college courses
One of the most valuable investments of time that an educator can do is take classes and workshops in the summer. There are many opportunities that are organized with teachers in mind. A great area to invest time and energy is in technology classes. This is a place where skills must constantly be updated. There are many quality workshops involving topics in education, teaching methods, and even regarding specific subject matters. Keep in mind that it won't mean totally remodeling one's teaching philosophies, but rather consider it as a recipe book. If one good recipe or educational idea is taken from the workshop, it is a success.

Read one new resource or book
Choose one book that has resources or lessons that would apply to the classroom. It is far better to set the goal of reading and understanding one book or resource, than bringing home a stack and feeling overwhelmed by the amount that needs to be covered. By setting the goal at one resource or book, it is manageable and the teacher can apply those skills to the classroom.

Go online
There are many websites that provide quality lesson plan ideas as well as activities and resources. The problem is that during the school year it is difficult to find the time to read and go through those lessons. Summer vacation is a prime time to explore the Internet and to print lessons and resources. Going to sites such as Promethean Planet or Thinkfinity and downloading

Career in Paramedical sciences

courses with great scope

Remember "Once in lifetime you or any of your friends or family members had been to a hospital & were recommended to have an X-Ray taken or undergo a Blood test, CT Scan etc…". Hope not many of us have experienced. Sometimes, the doctors give up their treatment and ask the patient to visit a "particular person" called Physiotherapist or occupational therapist who offers better & effective treatment. And many more instances.
Now what's important is to know more about such "Professionals " who do a Blood Test or a massage or a therapy and aid the doctor for better treatment of the patient & hence make health care easy and effective. These Professionals are called as "Paramedics." Paramedics are the key players in the Health & Medical Sector. Without paramedics, the entire Health Industry is out of gear and is almost non-functionary. If there are no Paramedics, there is neither money nor any profit for doctors, hospitals, private clinics, etc… (in general the entire health sector).
So be a Paramedic and discover the great realms of Human health & can earn huge money. It's a hidden treasure which's not known to many. A Few who found the hidden treasure are now the masters in the field of Health Care & Medical Sciences. Currently they have better opportunities & bright prospects than and MBBS / BDS graduate.

A Technical & Medical definition of a “Paramedic”
A Paramedic is a professional who helps the doctors in specialized areas and facilitates for better diagnosis, treatment and therapy. The increase in number of patients, variety of diseases & the demand for immense treatment have paved the way for Paramedical Professionals who are expert technicians or therapists providing better quality to human health care.

The aptitude (qualities) required to become a Paramedic.
Responsibility: Paramedics are the backbone of medical services. You need to work hard with great responsibility. More importance to quality & precision during work. Ability to judge & make clear observations is essential.
Scientific bent of mind: Lots of technical stuff, sophisticated machines (very costly), changing trends in technology & implementation demand a paramedic to be more tech savvy (like machine and equipment) as well as have a liking to science & its deep understanding. You should be able to make correct and precise observations each and every time.
Communication Skills: Being a paramedic is all about being good with patients & put them at comfort. You need to be good with your patients & try to make them happy and feel good about the treatment with your words & work.
